




Founded in 1573 by the Suquía river, the city of Córdoba is famous for being the greatest cultural and service center after Buenos Aires. It has an historic center with some of the most valuable heritage in the country, with a number of churches, convents and old houses dating from the 17th to the 19th centuries with remarkable artistic and architectural value. The Cathedral, the Compañía, Santa Teresa and Santa Catalina Convents, the House of the Sobremonte Marquee, the Rivera Indarte theater are among the outstanding monuments in Argentina's architectural heritage.

The large northern salt marshes, the north-western plains, the Sierra and Pampa de Pocho with its volcanoes and the tunnels that go as far as the north-western plains and it is here where we find San Marcos Sierra with its splendid environmental quality; Cruz del Eje with its dam; the Guasapampa Sierra and the archeological site Charquina; Pocho with its Pampa, volcanoes, lakes, and palm trees, the great tunnels, and the Chancani natural reserve with its thick quebracho plantations and La Candelaria Jesuit Ranch.

The Traslasierra Valley offers an exceptional setting, characterized by great weather, fresh air, blue sky, the presence of a large natural vegetation reserve together with crop lands and all this under the stunning Champaqui Hill (2,794 meters above sea level) which is the highest in the province.
The Sierras Grandes, the Pampa de Achala, the Condorito National Park are great attractions for adventure tourism, trekking and mountain climbing.
Arts and crafts in this area are made in black ceramics and you can also buy hand-made sweets and regional wines from the hospitable locals.
The Argentine Republic Rally, with its worldwide recognition as one of the most important in its category, gathers tourists from all over the world and represents an important event in the province. The Punilla Valley is the heart of tourism in Córdoba.
The Terrones and its reddish rock formations, strangely eroded, the Quebrada and view point in Cuchi Corral as a hang gliding center, the Quebrada de Vaquerias, the Natural Reserve of Bosque Serrano and the Chorrilos Waterfall are some of the sights in this valley.
The recreational activities, sailing, windsurf, canoeing, swimming, horse back riding, trekking and hiking have their special setting in the Cosquin and San Antonio rivers, the San Roque dam by Carlos Paz city, the La Falda and the Cajon dams in Capilla del Monte.
The night is a wonderful time to try food from a wide variety of restaurants and head off to theaters, bars, discos and casinos. Carlos Paz is the center of it all.

The Calamuchita valley is limited by the Sierras Chicas to the east and the Sierras de los Comechingones to the west and has the magnificent Champaqui Hill (2,794 meters above sea level) as its highest mountain.
Fishing and other kinds of water sports may be practiced in any of its seven dams, among which we can mention those in Cerro Pelado, Rio Tercero, Piedras Moras and Los Molinos. The National Beer Festival, the Delicatessen Festival and the Alpine Chocolate Festival in Villa General Belgrano are of great importance at provincial and national levels.
